I'm Tackling a Mountain (of Laundry, that is) **Giveaway**

If there is one domestic chore I am terrible at staying on top of it's laundry. If I told you how many times I had to dig for clean clothes for every member of our family you would be horrified. Truly.

In fact, just this morning my husband scoured the house for a clean pair of khakis because I'd apparently forgotten to wash anything but dark clothes for the last, oh, 4 loads. True story.

And if you saw the mountain of clean clothes on top of the washer and dryer? Yeah, you'd probably think I'm the worst housewife ever. (And, I'm not sure you'd be too far from the truth.)

The thing is, I don't actually mind doing laundry. In fact, I like the actual process of washing/drying. But the putting away? That is the part that throws me off every time. And I end up dreading the putting away process so much that I avoid laundry altogether.

I'm trying to get better. Really. And today I'm tackling the laundry. All day. I'm not stopping until it's under control. But, I'm wondering if maybe you can help a girl out?

I just recently got a chance to try a bottle of Sun Burst Laundry Detergent to help me out in my laundry endeavors. And they want you to have a chance to try it, too!

First, though, I'll tell you a little bit about what I thought about it. My favorite thing about it? It's cheap. I mean, inexpensive. Because I totally hate spending money on soap. I mean, after all, isn't that literally throwing money down the drain? But I also hate clothes that don't smell/feel clean. So, when I discovered that this stuff did a great job, smelled good, and was super cheap? I was sold on it. It's even HE compatible which is awesome.

So, if you'd like to give it a try here's your chance. I've got 5 coupons good for one FREE 45.4 oz bottle of liquid detergent or one 49 oz box of powder detergent in any scent. And all you have to do to enter to win is help me with my laundry. No, really.

Leave me a comment below with your favorite and most helpful tip for getting laundry done or staying on top of laundry and you'll be entered to win!

So, go ahead, give me your best tips for controlling the laundry monster.

I got myself into the habit of doing one load of laundry each evening. Before I start dinner I throw a load in. Before I serve dinner I throw it in the dryer. After dinner and dishes are done I fold and put away. It's become so routine, and so much easier than doing 4 or 5 loads on a Saturday - like I used to do. I probably do more loads this way (my family is smaller than yours), as sometimes the loads are small, but I feel like I spend much less time wrestling with it. Winning some detergent would make it even better!

Ok. This is going to probably be obvious, but it is what I do. I do laundry every other day. Usually that adds up to only 2-3 loads, but not a ridiculous amount. Then on Saturday, if I am doing the big house clean, I do the socks, towels, and sheets also.

The key though, and this is the obvious part, is putting it away as you dry/fold it. What has also helped a TON because I HATE putting the laundry away, is putting hangables on hangers immediately. From the dryer. As soon as the load is folded and loads are crossed over, I put everything away. Of course, I only put my laundry away. Everyone else is responsible for drawer laundry. (I do all the hanging just because)

I have 2 laundry bins in my closet which allows me to separate colors as I go along. This takes away sorting time before washing!

Thanks for the tips!

Similar to Heather I try to do laundry every few days as it starts piling up, so not to have so many loads all at one time.
That way if I do a 2-3 loads every few days it never gets so out of control.

As much as I love the scent of clean warm laundry, alas; my girl + I get itchy walking down the detergent aisle at Albertson's, so we're stuck with the no scent sensitive skin alternatives.

We match, though, on our love/hate with the laundry room. Except I've got you beat* on the husband has no pants + the mountains of clean. We call ours "The Pig Pile" and (regretably) it's the first place my family knows to look.

*I don't have 3 little ones like you. We only number 3 total!

Have hangers right next to the dryer...that way as shirts and other hangable items come out , they immediately get hung up, and hopefully on their way to their closets....If they are warm this really cuts down on wrinkles. I think some of the very large families with the shared closet connected to the laundry room have it right...brilliant design.
Thanks for a chance.
