oh my gosh, this cracks me up! I used to do this all the time as a kid, and sometimes I'd even sleep in the closet because I loved fitting in small places. And actually, I still do. My theory-- the world is so big to me all the time (chairs, tables, desk, etc) that it's a wondeful feeling to find something, or somewhere, that actually encloses you.
