Nature Walking

We took the girls for a picnic and nature walk today at a local park. It was fun to get out of the house and enjoy being outdoors for a while. We actually went with the intention of gathering bits of nature to make these awesome texture stones we saw on Write Mama Write.

Ivy thought we were rehashing Easter and kept looking for pine cones as if they were eggs. She'd grab them triumphantly and yell, " I did it!" Kai was really only interested in picking up big rocks and sticks for the most part. But, in the end we were able to find some beautiful nature bits to use in our texture stones when we make them later today. I'll post pics of how they turn out tonight when we're done baking them. In the meantime, here are some pics of our girls enjoying their trip out into nature...
