Total Truth Tuesday
Here's my truth: I secretly admire the nutty Duggars and other hugemongous families with more kids than anyone in their right mind would have because they have wicked awesome organizational skills.
Don't get me wrong, I think there is plenty of strangeness in those families (though I suppose not more than in the "average" family) but one has to admire their ability to keep that many kids organized and productive. Their pantry looks like a grocery store, their home is immaculate, and their kids are smart and relatively well-adjusted.
I've just got the two girls and I am doing well to get everyone dressed and clean on a daily basis (unfortunately, myself included). There are plenty of days when we're scrambling to get the house together minutes before their dad walks in the door. But, these families are the size of small counties or towns and they manage to run so smoothly. I wonder, is their dad the mayor by default? Do they have elections for family officers? Does dinner run by Robert's Rules of Order?
Whatever the answers, I may just have to try and model a little bit of that. Though I wonder, is is possible that it's a bit easier the more you have? Surely not...
